Massive amount of loop loss (attenuation) there Jason. Were things fine with your previous ISP using a similar set up?

Yes with IDNET i never had an issue in 3 years, all i did was switch to talktalk, unplugged cables from my old router into talktalks router exactly the same.
Im going to try using my old router later to see how that shapes up, until then im at a loss.
Stats now are :

Mode: ADSL2 PLUS
Type: ANNEX_A
Status: Showtime

Downstream Upstream
Rate (Kbps): 3217 kbps 155 kbps

SNR Margin (dB): 9.8 8.6

Output Power (dBm): 0.0 12.3

RS Correctable Errors: 4980 0
RS Uncorrectable Errors: 5 0

HEC Errors: 35 0

Looks like a line fault as your attenuation has changed

from "Attenuation (dB): 25.0 13.1"

to "Attenuation (dB): 53.0 51.4"

Is there any noise on your phone? It'll have to be a wired phone to check, not digital.

Willing to be wrong, but tempted to suggest it is an issue with the jumpering/wiring to the Talktalk hardware at the exchange.

Or it could be a router problem or home wiring issue, which swapping out the router could help diagnose.

So checked 30 minutes ago and the same stats as earlier, replaced microfilter with talk talks own, replaced fly lead from microfilter to router, new stats are :

DSL (Sync) Summary

System Uptime 0:02:55

Modem DSL(Sync) uptime 0:02:22

ADSL Mode ADSL2 PLUS

Interleaving On

DSL Line Speed
up 988 kbps

down 18033 kbps

Line Attenuation
up 13.0

down 25.0

SN Margin
up 9.3

down 8.7

Total Errors Seconds 0

No im not saying its down to the changes i made as i had no issue before, it may simply be that as ive disconnected a few things that the dsl line has reset and is having a funny turn again so may well be back to low speeds tomorrow morning which is when it generally happens, i will update smile

I've had instances of microfilters going bad over time, and one flylead, so it could easily be those. Keep the flylead as short as possible, especially if it is a flat one.
