LLU availability at EASHI (Shipdham, Norfolk).

[link to this post]

Hi,

I've just taken a call from TalkTalk offering me the essentials package - the guy (a Welsh chap) told me that TalkTalk have just stuck some equipment in my exchange...

I find this hard to believe, since my village is small with only 1300 odd addresses.

A quick scan on the SamKnows site and I can see that TalkTalk isn't available - on the TalkTalk site I'm just told I can get 7.8Mbps.

No mention is made of LLU on the TalkTalk site - only that they'll provide a line up to 24Mbps (only ADSLMax is available here).

I'm being told that I'm unable to receive the "plus package".

Am I correct in thinking that my exchange is not LLU enabled?

I would take LLU, but I'm not interested in the IPStream package...

Ta,
Rob

There is no LLU at your exchange.

That 7.8 Meg estimate is based on BT's ADSL Max.

when i had ADSLmax the maximum profile was 7150 (sync at 8128/832 fastpath) and the maximum throughput for speedcheckers etc was around 7000.

This may have changed since 2007 though smile

That estimate will have been of the Sync and was most likely 7616 kbps Interleaved.

interesting, but seems odd they don't say 7.6 then. Maybe it is an average sync and some have had interleaving turned off.
