I suggest you temper the attitude
Imagine a household with 2 or 3 people using laptops, and Netflix on the Xbox too and 60GB can vanish quickly, over the course of a month.
Exactly, I just looked at how much I have used and for jan and it is around 75GB, that shocked me, I know I been using Netflix trial a fair bit, but did not think it would take that much and there is only me here.

Just to clarify I have always been more than happy with plusnet and my 60gb allowance - and with the unlimted overnight allowance it has been a cracking service for me.
However I have recently started using both the netflix and lovefilm apps on my Xbox as well as the Sky Player and my wife uses them on her Ipad and for the last two months my peak usage has started to creep over my allowance and therefore I have decided to look to somewhere that has more generous limits.
I think your replies are both presumptuous and unfair and its people like you that put people off from asking advice on forums like these.
OOOPS! Tagged to the wrong poster I suggest....hope
A very appropriate comment without a doubt......just that your aim was out.

Thankyou for all the helpful replies.

parents have been on basic TalkTalk for ages, I moved in in August, and for 3 months we got a letter saying we had exceeded the monthly limit, on the 3rd month they added £5 to the bill and we haven't had any further letters even though I'm positive we DL way over 80gb a month.
We aren't under contract though, and total bill is around £27 so maybe that has something to do with our "unlimited" status. Others have said the 80gb package(s) are basically unlimited.

£27 sounds like a switch to the unlimited product

i guess officially its the original international3 package for 20.99, plus £1 line rental increase, plus £5, but I didn't know they had an unlimited tbh. Maybe as the prices (nearly) match TT are happy (apart from us not being under contract)

I'm a bit concerned aftere reading online that talk talks fair usage policy only let's you download 80gig a month before they can throttle you or even cut you off.
Hi it seams from the other posts youve more a less got you answer that the plus package is truly unlimited
Here is a PS of my talktalk usage panel just to show the plus realy is unlimited.
When i was on the phone to talktalk the other day asking about when fibre would be introduced in my area (march) they asked me why i was actually wanting to upgrade i said well with love film netflix PS3 pc gaming multiple people in the house using the net at the same time the ADSL can get a little strained (used to be with VM 50/100meg so never noticed any problems with us all using at the same time) anyway he said well from your monthly usage your about average for customer on out plus plan. So to the point you going over 80gig realy wont be a problem.

Dude, relax! I regularly download over 100gb per month on the plus package and TT have never raised an eyebrow. They might have something to say if you were to download TBs of data per month (ie those who take the p*ss) but a few hundred GBs is chicken feed on the plus package. Welcome to the UK's most hated ISP

I moved from plusnet to BE for the same reason i nearly always went my 60GB limit
I have downloaded around 180GB on talktalk unlimited and never had a problem.

Thanks guys some really helpful replies and you've put my mind at rest! I've no intention of downloading loads of data because it's unlimited - just nice to know I can use the Internet as I normally do without that nagging feeling I'm approaching my limit.
