Re: Can I migrate from Xilo to TalkTalk easily?

I went from Xilo LLU to talktalk.

dont fall for the 'you wont get charged for moving' Xilo did try and warn me I didnt listen talktalk always do a cease and reprovide which means almost sure you endup getting charged.talktalk did give this back to me after checking and see I was told no charge.

worse move I made to be honest im going to be moving later on in the year my contract with talktalk ends in july i wont be taking out a new contract it then runs into a month on month rolling one once I move going back to BT and then back with Xilo.

CS at talktalk is disgusting and after the flaming I got on the members forum from an OCE just now cant wait to leave them.theres no wonder they get such a rotten name in General if the service is okay and you dont have much to do with CS its fine its when you need them talktalks main flaws come to the surface.

the service itself is about 1.5 mb down from what I had with Xilo
but truly the CS side of them is horrendous.

dealing with talktalk via the phone is a total non starter its only when you use the members forum any sense appears and OCE's can take upto 48 hrs to reply/act.
but after todays events even lost faith in the OCE's.

No body hides away from TalkTalk shocking customer service and as you say the connections normally OKish , not totally with out fault but works perfectly most of the time , at least that was my experience over a fair few years .

But the but is when things are not working how you would expect or you are expecting to much from a budget ISP and probably should not of went with TalkTalk in the first place .

I had a line with what i still consider the Best ISP i have ever been with , the now gone UKonline but it did cost and for less than half price , i had a line with the cheapest ISP that i have ever been with .

Was UKonline worth so much more money than TalkTalk ? only if you needed to use customer support !

I believe you went from ex-Tiscali SMPF to Talk Talk MPF, which is a little different.

SMPF to SMPF will have issues, as will MPF to MPF.

TalkTalk will cease the line , i went from a resellers LLU product running on TalkTalk equipment to TalkTalk and had to pay a cease charge .

So can only confirm what you are saying .

what my plan is here my contract with talktalk ends july.not sure if the move will be complete by then after the 12 month contract is over apparently it rolls on a monthly basis when I know 100% the move is on will just cancel the service/line then get new line sorted from BT and just go from there.

http://www.ispreview.co.uk/story/2010/08/25/warning-...

these calls have been occuring in Wales.Mum and dad got one *they are with sky I had one also.Over the weekend a person posted about a number and a possible scam.theres also the one they ring saying the ISP has been in contact with them and they are informing you the PC is infected and for 29.99 they will send out a link that will sort the PC out and you wont be cut off the internet.I posted this 100% in good faith because I know my mum and dad nearly fell for it.and sorry the OCE's reply was nothing short of terrible.when they even talk about banning people from the members forum it just makes you wonder why bother allowing other FM's to post just have the OCE's to post replies to questions.

I know the local paper also reported theres been a lot of people getting sucked into these scam calls so clearly this area of the country is being targeted at the moment and it just makes you feel why the heck did I bother.the wording of the reply made it feel like people had posted out of malice if money wasnt such an issue I would leave talktalk right now thats how strong I feel about it.I think talktalk have enough enemies without trying to make new ones.

Don't listen to the doom merchants mate, you'll be fine on TalkTalk LLU (obviously stick to web support) I've been using Netflix USA (via VPN) for a year or so on my TalkTalk LLU service and it runs fine. My monthly average download is now close to 400GB and TalkTalk haven't blinked an eyelid as their Plus package really does appear to be unlimited. I would happily pay AAISP prices for my TalkTalk LLU connection grin
