Fibre sync speed dropped

I have been connecting at 39.9Mb down and 2Mb up the last five months, now it's at:

I've been switching the router overnight and once in the day sometimes, but it kept the sync fine before. Will it go back up by itself eventually? I asked on the TalkTalk members online support forum last week, but still no reply.

Others will be able to give a more definitive answer, but with the high "noise safety coefficient" figures (I presume these are actually the SNR margin figures), it looks like your line might have been put on a banded profile.

It's better to leave the router on permanently, though the scenario you should really try to avoid is switching off and switching back on within 30 minutes, as this can make the DLM believe your line is unstable.


There are other possibilities, such as G.INP being enabled on your line and your router not handling it well.

Seeing a similar issue with some customers in Buckinghamshire.

Got sent a new router, the HG633 to replace my HG635. Back syncing at 39999 and 2000 up so it's all sorted now!
