When I had it on Infinity I got it 24/7. I know this is TT network so that could have been a stupid comment I just made.

A clear indicator of exchange or network congestion is packet loss on an idle connection, even if its just a few % loss. Might be worth setting up a TBB BQM and also a monitor at f8lure for confirmation. Obviously if you're on a dynamic IP then avoid rebooting your modem/router.

Not much sign of packet loss there. The router stats are only showing a negligible amount of errors and I think these are only generated maxing out the connection performing speed tests.

The AAISP version only kicked in at 1am this morning:

However the TBB monitor pings have been much more spikey since 11pm yesterday evening.

This is something I haven't seen before. The before 11pm performance is typical.

Is this a side effect of running the F8lure monitor alongside the TBB one?

Having the TBB and f8lure monitors running simultaneously shouldn't skew each others results.

Wrt yellow spikes on TBB monitor, it seems they aren't reflected on the f8lure monitor? If the TBB monitor is incorrect then by the same token the TBB speedtester could also be giving you incorrect single thread speedtest results. Hence why i recommended f8lure to get an independent check on your TBB BQM, but it appears one monitor is telling you porkies...I would leave both BQMs running for a week or so and then do a comparison. Ideally you shouldn't have any spikes when your connection is idle.

The F8lure service has their native monitor plus a second monitor hosted at AAISP.

f8lure hs been running since mid-2007 after a similar service called l8nc closed down leaving people stuck. Since we launched many similar services have also cropped up such as pingdom and ThinkBroadband's ping monitoring service. I hope we are better than the other services as we support dynamic IP addresses (dyndns, no-ip etc.), IPv6 and e-mail notifications of connection failure.
In 2013 AAISP kindly setup a FireBrick as a second opinion graph from within their network!
