I had a Talk Talk retail ADSL2 line a few years ago and it was possible to register on their forums and request assistance from of their OCE's (Online Community Experts? or something to that effect) to reduce the SNRM setting on your line.
You can also as others have suggested use a modem/router to tweak that too. I did that using a Billion 8800NL which allows you to set a permanent tweak on the SNRM that survived reboots.
Sorry, hijacking this thread with a simple question. Using TTB ADSL2+ with a Draytek 2830 router. I am connected OK and all seems to be fine but I would like to determine the value of MTU that I should be using. Can anyone supply this please?
From the router.
ADSL Status:
Mode State Up Speed Down Speed SNR Margin Loop Att.
ADSL2+(G.992.5) SHOWTIME 1019681 7165052 6 40
Firmware: 3.6.8.6_sb_232201
TB Speed test responds with 6Mbps Down and 0.7Mbps Up
Would changing the MTU value make any difference to these speeds?
Currently 1442 wth a max of 1492
