Own router

[link to this post]

Hi,

I am looking to move away from BT for phone and fibre internet. Will TT let me use my own router/modem?

I currently use the BT Openreach Huawei HG612 modem with an Apple Timecapsule router.

Kind regards,

Adam

Yes. In fact now that Sky and Vodafone have relaxed their policies I believe every DSL provider allows the use of one's own router (someone correct me if I'm wrong!).

TT residential use DHCP so you can use just about any router, best to keep the TT router(as opposed to sticking it on eBay) because if you do have issues it'll be needed for their troubleshooting scripts.

I've been using my own router with TT for years with no problems... but if you do have a problem you would best use the TT supplied user to troubleshoot.
