Adding an extra Eero

[link to this post]

Hi,

Getting Future Fibre soon with one Eero Pro 6.

On eBay there is a huge number of people selling their Eero's from TalkTalk. Has anyone any experience of buying one and adding it to their network? They're alot cheaper than retail generally. I realise they are all locked to TT.

Thanks

No experience but just a pointer

Remember you'll need just an Eero extender not the Eero that contains a router (as TT will supply that) as I suspect a lot of whats on Ebay are routers.

I did notice on Amazon there was routers ans extenders. Can't the router also act as an extender?

Hopefully someone who has experience of these will be able to confirm for sure but think of the router as the master and the extenders as slaves, normally you can have multiple slaves but only one master.

Yes it can, I have the Talktalk supplied Eero 6 pro router and bought another one from Amazon the same since that seemed to be the only way to get full speed between them and it worked fine as an extender/bridge.

Whether another Talktalk Eero router would work as an extender though I don't know.
