Re: Cease on Talktalk account-should leave or remove.

Thanks for reply.

No landline with BT as I just signed up for fibre 500 package but did take out a sim package for mobile with them, carrier is EE, that cost £10 unlimited calls and texts, did haggle it down to £9 a month with data allowance doubled to 20gb.

So altogether Broadband 500 is £30.99 +£9 for the mobile total is £39.99 a month.

Porting the landline to BT costs £5 a month just for pay as you go, so not worth it for me, as well I don't want to over complicate the migration of the broadband to BT considering the problems I had upgrading with Talktalk., So hopefully BT will be able to activate the broadband ok.

BT say that they see I have already got FTTP so they are just sending on their router and go live date is going to be the 26 oct.

It seems I have to just go through setup and it should work by midnight on the 26 oct.

I take it, its not possible for both BT and Talktalk to have a connection to my ONT at the same time.

I see you had to take the “scorched earth” option that I bounced as an option in the other thread.

On the day of the change from TT to BT, the migration will usually happen in the wee hours (around 1am if my experience and memory serves). So going from TT (resi) to BT will require a pppoe login to be initiated - so you’ll need BTs router connected into your ONT (or another box with the creds to make the connection).

Hope it all goes well with BT.

Looks like things should be OK and your TalkTalk account should be entirely terminated together with a final bill. Probably wise that you decided not to retain the landline - hope it wont be too inconvenient and a mobile phone will be sufficient for your needs.

Hi again folks,

Well switch to BT went fine for the Full Fibre, but still a nightmare with Talktalk getting them to cease the landline which wasn't carried over to BT, just going to get rid of it.

Talktalk systems have rejected the cease on the landline for two different dates, and they seem to have trouble doing a final bill as well.

You would think there is some way for their agents or manager to override their systems and input the info manually but either this is not possible, or they are not willing to do it.

In all honesty Talktalk in my opinion should not be in business as an ISP such is the stress, they can cause a customer.

Probably going to be overcharged one again in next bill, just can't wait to get rid of them.

I can sympathise somewhat. I use TTB for an FTTP service. They have had a recurring "paper billing" charging issue on my account. It's only happened 5 times. So yeah what problem smile

The service "service" is solid. Its just a shame we have to deal with them on other "service" related matters - which is frankly [censored].
