Dear adebov

Yep, you are right - and will be addresssed

Right now - clean build of Win ME + Modem + its software that came with it.

Issue right now it can connect, and can ping/browse by IP.

No DNS - so how to get adsl (1 Mb (no MAX) and dynamic IP) to use DNS on Win ME as wanadoo/orange havnt a clue and the installation software doesnt do it either?

Try this... http://www.helpdesk.umd.edu/os/windows_me/connectivity/dialup/2217/ (assuming you're using the kind of dial-up/connection software/wizard that was common with old dial-up connections and early ADSL USB modems).

EDIT: Obviously using the DNS IP addresses provided by your ISP, rather than the ones specified on that webpage.

Giving UKFSN/Entanet a try
DL Sync 4600+ (now 2464 and screwed up by pointless 15db SNR target)
UL Sync 448

FYI, IIRC if you want more network info in ME and 98 start/run winipcfg
