Syncing but not connecting. Normal behaviour?

I recently signed up for Namesco ADSL Max.

My activation date isn't until Monday, but since I'm the curious kind, I just plugged in my ethernet modem to check if I've been lucky.

Normally, the modem admin panel just shows the connection going connection/down connecting/down, showing the line isn't ready.

Today my line seems to be syncing. It syncs at about 3 meg, but doesn't get as far as a PPP connection. The line syncs, then about 2 seconds later is drops and starts connection again.

Just to make it clear, I'm not sitting here expecting my connection to be working today, I'm just wondering if this behaviour is normal when the line is being set up, or if the moment my line syncs, everything should be working?

Any help appreciated guys.

It suggests that BT are enabling your line today, but you won't be able to connect until Namesco enable their end.
