DG834G usable as a wireless extender ?

[link to this post]

Hi,

Joined sky broadband, who have supplied me a Netgear DG834GT wireless router, this means my older Netgear DG834G is now redundant. Apart from selling it the only other possible use I have is to use it as a wireless extender for the new Netgear router. Anyone know if it's possible to use the 834G as an extender ?

Cheers

To clarify, wireless extender via wireless rather than cat5 connection from router to router.

the 834G does not AFAIK support WDS distribution as a host so its availability as a client is even less likely. I would say "no".

No it isn't - I've tried it before and couldn't get it to work.

Its questionable whether the GT is an improvement over the G really.

Free router provided by sky, which has to be used. So no option really, besides it's smaller and looks nicer

It don't have to be used at all. You can change the MAC address to match your new one.
