Speed issues on BT

[link to this post]

I posted a message on the BT forum the other day about my speed suddenly dropping from 1.5Mbit to 256Kbps. I was told that I'd fallen out of sync, somehow, and that in three days time things might improve.

Well, today I'm up to 512Kbps, by the looks of things. But I'm still not back at 1.5Mbit.

I'm starting to realise that a call to BT is inevitable, but any advice will be appreciated.

Here are some relevant figures from my router's log screen:

Data Rate

Stream Type Actual Data Rate
Up Stream 448 (Kbps.)
Down Stream 2016 (Kbps.)

Operation Data
Operation Data Upstream Downstream
Noise Margin 19 dB 5 dB
Attenuation 63 dB 57 dB

If you maintain that rate for 3 days or more you should be back on 1.5Mb/s. I think you posted you dropped on the 6th. You may have to wait another day or so.
