Any help?

Right! I have had max for one month and in all that time I have had a decent speed for maybe a week. My router, a Netgear DG834v1 seems to keep synced but my profile is at the moment low, 135k. However once it is raised my router tends to loose sync and of course my profile plummets again. I have done all the ring wire stuff / test socket and the like but still it dosent seem to help. Now interleaving is on and BT raise my SNR, but my noise margin is flucuating from 18db down to minus figures. On the quiet line test I do hear what is best described as waves from a distance but you really have to listen for it. I have Routerstats software running and the stas from that are:

Connection Speed: DOWN 2592 kbps UP 448 kbps
Line Attenuation: DOWN 54 db UP 15.5 db
Noise Margin: DOWN 9 db UP 18 db

The Telnet Stats are: Started Sunday 8th April 23:31

Now I think my problem is a noise one so I am getting a Speedtouch 585v6 and an XF-1e microfilter this week. Would these help do you think in at least cutting some of the noise out. Thanks
