Speedtouch 330 Working Vista Driver UK 0.38

[link to this post]

Hi all!

First post, thought i would add something useful to the community

I have been doing some testing after the official release of 4.1 Vista driver and its totally horrid.

It can cause,

1. Error721 if you manage to actually get it installed *Connection to remote computer did not respond*
2. Device ID not found *Vista USB device issue*
3. Red/Green lights on the modem *Driver Failed to install*
4. PPPoE being automatically selected
5. Unable to recognise a Sync *although having 2x solid green lights*

I have managed to create a working, fix-all driver.. This is made up of afew beta components, release 4.1 and also the v0.3 business release driver.

Please note, this driver is only for UK 0.38 PPPoA Connections, if anyone requires a different setup, please email me and i will add PPPoE, Bridged Mode if required.

**SET A RESTORE POINT FIRST**

I will NOT be held responsible for any problems that may occur.

Now the driver will install over the top of previous install's, but it is probably a better idea to remove ALL speedtouch software in Vista

Control Panel/Programs ad Features and check for "Alcatel / Speedtouch USB / Your ISP Software"

Now, i have compiled the driver into an auto extracting SFX file.

It will automatically extract to C:\Speedtouch330 then run C:\Speedtouch330\stInstall.exe

TO UNINSTALL *USE PROGRAMS AND FEATURES*

Hope this helps the community get their Speedtouch330 modems to work on Vista! because im tired of calls about Vista/330

What a nice gesture. I don't have a 330 so can't test but I'm sure someone will be along to give it a whirl. I also hope Speedtouch get a copy of it and see where they went wrong writing the original driver.
