Never had this issue before - frequently use a wi-fi laptop from hotels etc to PPTP back to pptp server in UK with no problems. Currently trying from a Spanish hotel, runs Telefonica adsl with a Cisco wi-fi router. Can get internet (slow) shows about 1mb d/s but only 0.2 u/s; not sure how many other users though. Problem is that on firing up the PPTP connection I can see the link to the fixed IP in the UK (as it is fed through the passthro0ugh on the router there (?) so that router is accepting ythe connection, but then the password/logon from the server behind the router just counts up to 30+ seconds without authenticating! Other users (in UK) are still able to authenticate so not a remote access server issue, and I have had the user name checked that iit is not locked out.
Any thoughts? - could either Telefonica or teh Cisco router be blocking part of the PPTP connection?
Looking as to how to get by it now. but also additional means of connection to the server in future if this happens again.
Thanks
