SDSL UPGRADE

Hoping someone can help me really, we are in the process of upgrading our 1mb SDSL service to a 2mb sdsl service, we have been told that to be able to do this we require a brand new line to be ran and the 2mb SDSL placed on this.

Im thinking surely this is not needed and that the 1mb SDSL can just be upgraded to a 2mb line, just the same as ADSL.

Any ideas???

I would have thought the existing sdsl line could be upgraded, all be it with some downtime while the upgrade is taking place. It could be the 'suppler' does not do upgrades and hence likes to setup a new line on the 2M service, test it, to ensure the service is working correctly and then pass this onto yourself.
