Cisco Linksys X2000

[link to this post]

Just wondered if anyone has managed to configure one of these units and get is working with O2 Broadband.

I've set it to:

Auto, ADSL,
RFC 2684 Bridged
VPI: 0
VCI: 101
ADSL Mode: Auto
MTU: 1500
Multimode
Hostname: O2 Home Broadband

I get an up/downstream but no IP values are assigned.

I have a Netgear DGN2000 working fine and also Wireless O2 box so any further help would be welcome.

Thanks

is 0/101 still correct?
I beleive that other Be wholesale lines are provisioned PPPoA VPI/VCI 0/38 (ie the same as BTW) now by default.

As far as I'm aware it is and what O2 suggested, selecting PPPoA requires a username/password which O2 does not use.

You can see the settings available here http://ui.linksys.com/files/X2000/1.0.00/

Didn't get a chance to last night but will be trying again this evening. The previous night Linksys called me and they couldn't get it working either. If I can't get it going tonight it looks like it will be going back for refund. I recall reading a thread somewhere about chipsets that O2 supported but can't recall how old the post was.

I'm not sure if this is correct or not but all Linksys products only support Annex M (from what Linksys support have advised), O2 is Annex A but I've seen WAG320N's working with O2 so I'm baffled.

This cannot be true, I have seen plenty of them working on annex A lines.

Suspect they've got things the wrong way around, Annex M is rare so only supporting that and not the standard mode would be commercial suicide

Well the item has been returned so I'll stick to what I know works. If Linksys support don't know what they're talking about what hope do us mere technical guys have.

Linksys have a technical support? Last time I wanted to know whether a switch had a fan in it I just got told to go and ask on their forums.

Their products are excellent in my opinion, far better than other routers on the market of the same price, but their support and website gets more naff every year.

Shame because if they pulled their finger out they could be much stronger in the UK market.
