Speed Problems - and ISP won't help

[link to this post]

I'm having real problems with my current ISP. My connection is really really slow. I am using a BT Voyager modem and these are my line stats. I'm on MAXDsl

Line mode
G.dmt

Line state
Show Time

Latency Type
Interleave

Line Up Time
00:02:35:34

Line Coding
Trellis On

Line Up Count
5

Statistics
Downstream
Upstream

Line Rate
320 Kbps
448 Kbps

Noise Margin
32.5 dB
20.0 dB

Line Attenuation
42.5 dB
25.5 dB

Output Power
15.6 dBm
12.3 dBm

The line also keeps dropping. I've tried disconnecting everything bar the modem and its still dropping the line and now my speeds are incredibly slow!

Any advice would be much appreciated

Not surprised, you're only connected at just over 1/4 a meg.
For whatever reason, your noise margin is all the way at 32db. Needs to be far far far, lower than that.

So that would be a line problem then?

Have you tried a different router (as, normally, your router would only lose sync due to a high noise spike, and as your margin is reported at 32db, it would have to be a damn big spike)?

I found this with my line. Crackle would come along, sync would be lost, crackle would continue, router would sync at 192 k 15 db margin, crackle would disappear margin would shoot up to 30db.

Annoying really.
