I seem to have a lot, yet my speed tests are 6000>

What is the impact of high numbers on a max dsl connection

I assume that's 7,134 CRC errors over a 5 day period ? Works out about 1400 a day - I'd say that's rather high - I tend to get about 10 per hour here, but that's with normal web browsing (no downloading, etc)

Thanks for the reply, I have no idea what causes these errors or in fact what the initials mean. I assume in view of my speeds it is safe to ignore?.

1400 a day isn't high at all.

At times in the past I've seen more than that in an hour...and it still didn't effect the speed noticeably.

The levels he is getting should be of no concern whatsoever. If he does want rid of them I'd suggest a filtered master socket faceplate to dispense with the crappy dongle filters. A good quality piece of cable from the socket to the router would probably lower the errors further. I've found this to be the case with my connection with the SNR raising substantially thus making for a more stable and reliable experience.

I've got a filtered faceplate (ADSLnation XFE-2005) and get a huge number of errors. Where can I get a better quality cable?

I doubt the phone line in the house is having a significant effect with a filtered faceplate, unless perhaps you have a powerful local source of interference (like the chap with trains running past his house for example). You can always eliminate pickup in the house by removing the master face plate and connecting the router directly to the test socket. If there's no improvement here then no amount of screening will make any difference. You may as well paint go faster stripes on your router.

The way to reduce errors is to increase either your SNR margin or your level of error correction. This is down to your ISP, although the DMT tool can also help with margin.

Thanks for all contributions. Could thes errors possibly be due to a constantly in use HiFi speaker sitting right next to the filter and phone socket?.

Extremely unlikely.
