MAC Code expiry

[link to this post]

Dear All

I had my MAC Code from my current ISP at the start of march, which I used, but my new supplier put down the wrong code, and my order got cancelled etc, the same day I rebooked and gave them the code again.

Now my code is more than 30 days old, I got a letter this morning telling me my new ISP will be switching me over on wednesday , Because I have used my code with my supplier does this mean my code has expired or not?

Anyway help would be most gratefull

thanks

The MAC validity is 30 days from its issue. I think the migration date can be at most 5 days after the expiry date, i.e. 35 days from its issue, but this is based on my interpretation of the rules and may be wrong.

I'm not clear what you are trying to discover. Is it the likelihood of being migrated on Wednesday?

What I am saying is

My broadband order using my MAC was done within the 30 days, but switch over date is over the 30 days? does this matter?

Thanks

I really can't help you there. I think it's OK if Wednesday is within 35 days you got the MAC but it's pretty much speculation on my part.

I'd have thought the ISP you are going to are far more likely to know, and they seem confident.

Whenever you are in a situation which you have no control over there is little point in fretting about it. Wait and see what happens on Wednesday.

If a switch-over date has been given, presumably that came from BT back to the new ISP after they re-submitted the order. Therefore the MAC has been accepted by BT and is history.

Just my opinion.
