Hello, I have had phone call after phone call from the office staff saying "the interenet doesn't work". My reply is "reset the server and the router and call me back". Which er didn't bring the internet back online. After ringing Plusnet and them testing the line saying there is no problem. Sunstone your telephone provider also say there is no fault on the line. We have a machine in the work shop that has 2 10,000 RPM motors on it. The drives for the motors have filters which are up to spec for the job. I think the motors are putting out some funny hyrmonics which is killing of the phone line. I cannot really prove this. But what i have noticed is when they are working on the machine the interenet doesn;t work. Today the machine has been running and the internet hasn't worked. As soon as the engineers went home the internet worked. They say that it shouldn't effect anything. But i know for a fact the phone lines aren't screened. Can any 1 shed any light on this?
It seems possible that the motors are causing the problem. Perhaps you could try using the internet a few times with the motors on and off to confirm one way or the other if it is the motors.
If it is the motors I guess you'll need to get some shielding.
Not my problem ! Did see something similar with a fountain pump motor, but no idea what they did to fix it, all 'we' did was demonstrate where the fault lay..the OP seems to have done the hard part themselves already.
You need to check where your cable run are for the feeds and where the power comes from for PCs routers etc.
Try a UPS to provide supplies for the router etc a good one will provide filtering for the computer equipment. Also check that no network cables are run with power cables.
