Few issues....

[link to this post]

Had MAXDSL since last year and have been having a number of problems with it which I've never sorted.

Basically, having moved to MAXDSL, my profile was often poor (think 160kbps). I put this down to my internal wiring (i'd run cat5 throuh the house) and thought nothing of it... due to laziness.

Lately however, I've been looking in to it and surprise, surprise, from the test socket I'm getting the same issues. I'll sync at approx 4 meg with 42db attenuation and 14.0 SNR. This is using a Draytek 2600+. I'll try leave this running for 72 hours and when I go to check it, it'll have disconnected and synced at 160000~, thus the profile issues.

This has been getting worse lately so I've checked the voice side of things and surprise, surprise, a bit of noise. I've reported this to BT who said it had been autoforwarded to my exchange as a common problem in the area. The call was closed within 2 hours as "fixed". Went home... found out it wasn't.

I've had scratching/clicking on the line and when it does this, my router seems to lose sync. However, it's intermittent. Without it I seem to be syncing fine.

I also noticed that when 1571 has a message (with the interrupted ring tone) my router goes insane and refuses to sync easily.

I raised another call last night with BT who have said they can't find anything and will arrange an engineer to come visit (at cost if nothing is wrong etc etc etc). I've bought another corded phone just to double check, and... tonight when testing, there is no noise, on any phones. I'm also synced at 4900 with 42.0/13.5....

Could it be BT have fixed the issues when checking or should I expect this to come back? Anyone had any similar issues with 1571 and... any advice?

I'm moving from UKFSN to Sky soon (MAX so ADSL2+ hopefully). Sort of hoping it'll be fixed by then.

Phone was never connected when I've been trialling from the test socket.

We have a cordless, borrowed my parents to check noise and have also bought one today to confirm this. Both my cordless and my parents corded has noise last night. Tonight, no noise at all on all 3.

Don't think it's that...
