Phone wire all over the place!

Hi guys,

Just been round to a neighbours to see why there ADSL is so poor, 288kbps connection with a 2-7dB Noise Margin on a 57dB Attn. Hmm, not good.

Stuck it into the master socket and im getting 29-30dB Margin. Better!

So I had a poke around their phone wiring and came to the conclusion that it was rubbish. So, which of the following wires are redundant?

Leave 2+5 connected all the way through and make sure all Phone devices are filtered, including any Sky box's , Answer machines or cordless base stations.

Going to replace Ext 1 with an XTF-68 Faceplate and drop Ext 2 from the whole equation. Should help!
