Installing I-Plate

I read in this week's Sunday Times that an I-Plate costing a few pound can improve Broadband speed - I have BT Broadband.
However, I have a non splite face dual socket with the BT horn logo top left, which I believe is not suitable for the I-Plate.
Is it possible therefore to replace the whole master socket with the ANSL V1.0 master socket face plate which I understand does not need an I-plate.
Would this improve my Boradband - I use one phone with the broadband outlet and a phone on the 2nd line?

You'll need to get BT to replace the double socket with 2 NTE 5's. The newer NTE 5's have the same circuit as the i-plate built in. If you get either the ADSL v1.0 (you might be able to get one from the BT eng who replaces the sockets if you ask nicely) or the ADSL Nation XTE 2005 filter it will provide the optimal setup for your BB.
