Upload Speed

[link to this post]

Hiya,

I'm thinking of leaving Skt BB and going to O2 for greater upload speeds. Before I commit i'd like to know, if possible, what upload speed I can actually expect.

These are my current stats with Sky BB:

Speed (down/up): 7616kbps/384kbps
Attenuation (down/up): 41.0db/24.5db
Noise Margin (down/up): 7.1db/13.0db

Thanks

I have similar attenuation as yourself,

Attenuation is a term used to describe the reduction of the adsl signal strength that occurs on the copper pair over distance and is measured in dB decibels.

Slightly worse at 42.5 down, 25 up, and I achieve an upstream of ~1000, 936 being the lowest and 1136 being the highest.

Edit: The above is on ADSL2+ WBC

Thanks for the reply. Not really sure it's worth the extra £12 per month then (currently £5 with Sky and would be £17 with O2).

I was actually hoping to get close to the full 2.5Mbps frown

If Sky were to let you have their fastest product while the downstream is not likely to go faster, your upstream would manage more
