streaming problems?

[link to this post]

can anyone help?

First of all i have noticed that web pages seem to be taking longer to load sometimes not loading at all, seems to be slower in the evenings.

and live steaming is just a waste of time (pausing all the time) justin.tv

my isp is Sky but im on a connect package my router is a sagem however i have extracted the password ect and connected my bt speedtouch and the problems are the same.
here is my stats
Line Mode G.DMT Line State Show Time
Latency Type Interleave Line Up Time 00:03:04:35
Line Coding Trellis On Line Up Count 1

Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 5312 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 15.1 dB 23.0 dB
Line Attenuation 43.0 dB 31.5 dB
Output Power 19.7 dBm 11.9 dBm

i also use a pair of comtrend 100MB powerline adaptors
Downloading thru newsgroups maxes my connection however when i download something thru windows download bar time had on 20mins for 1.8M file.
Browser Firefox
average ping 120ms max 270ms min 104ms
13% package loss

Has anyone any suggestions?
or will i have to go thru sky customer support?

there's a speed tester for the BBC iPlayer at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/diagnostics

What does it say ?

Does the iPlayer behave the same as your other service ?

The tester unless it has changed is just a-nother tester, that does no special UDP streaming testing that I can see.

it produces several results so I thought it was testing something streaming specific

Looks like it has had some work done on it, as when I last saw it it was just a single test

Its still broke as it records a PEAK speed for the download, but oddly behaves properly for the streaming tests.

yeh must be some traffic management

done some bt speedtests @ rbt 17.30 was getting 1564kbps but was maxing out my connection @ 4800

did a test a few mins ago and got 346kbps same on the second bt test and on the third the java
failed to load, connection still maxing out on my newsgroup connection.
Have done 3 bt tests in 3 days now and the java fails to load thus the test does nt happen. any toughts anyone?
