After a few hours of dabbling, what im trying to do is have my BE connection on a secured network using a UTM firewall (SonicWall TZ150). I currently have a Netgear DG834GT but am going to replace this with a standalone "dumb" modem. The set-up will be as below:
Internet>Modem>SonicWall>LAN
I have tried to plan to get the Netgear to work but as I only I have a single static IP address it might be hard, I have tried a Zyxel 660R-D1 but this prooved to be abit difficult as 1) it does not support annex-m and 2)I cant seem to get it to bridge properly as its asking for username/password for isp authentication.
Could anyone help?
If I have to ditch the Zyxel modem what would be a cheap/reliable alternative that will give me good speeds? also, is there anyway I could salvage the Netgear, stick this infront of the firewall (the only problem with this is that I use it as an access point so any devices connecting over WLAN are going to be unprotected).
Any help appriciated
Thanks
