ADSL SYNC SPEED ON GOING ISSUE

What is going on with my sync speeds for last 6 years ,i havent really took much intrest in BB speeds until a few yrs ago i started gaming,I have been with BT,SKY,AOL,PLUSNET,O2,WANADOO,TALKTALK ISP's.I have never got speeds over 980kbps down.I have recently had a line fault repaired as i complained to my isp.I have took into consideration my line attenuation is high !BUT! i have looked at 3 neighbours line stats and here they are below with mine 1st.

I know the state of how the cabling underground is routered and i am no different to my other neigbours .Has my line got some sort of 'capped' on it because i know when i was with BT ,SKY,O2 it had a max sync of 1meg profile ,or do i have a poor line from exchange and it needs to be sorted with my isp Talktalk or BTOR? If i can get through to there thick heads (talktalk) this is a line problem, there trying to kick it under table !ya now what i mean. I dont have any extensions etc staight into master socket pluggd into test socket Any idears were i go from ere ...

The attenuation on your line is significantly higher than that of your neighbours.
Running ADSL2+ wont help at all. If possible ADSL2 maybe a better compromise or even dropping to basic g.DMT.
Your connection may have been better previously due to the connection type which may have changed while or since changing ISP's.
A wild stab in the dark suggests your line is indeed routed differently to your neighbours, probably on a different E-side (exchange to cabinet) hence the large differences in line performance. Unfortunately there is no obligation or even a set process to improve connection speeds as such.It would naturally rely on your ISP badgering BT

Cheers pal,i had BTOR out yest and he said 'to push my isp for a SFI check its possible that there will be spare lines at the green box to exchange which i need to be switch around onto to get better sync speed ,i told isp all the monkeys keep doin is changing profile ive tried ADSL2 AND G-DMT the speeds get worst

What was the attenuation when using ADSL2 and G-DMT?

can you get a 6 or even a 3 dB profile ? might help if you can't resolve the extra attenuation issue.

trying to kick [censored] this morning with talktalk but again there not acknowledging it does my head knowing i have to pay for same servioce as folk who can get 8meg etc its not right

Try asking on the members forums, you tend to get more joy out of the techs on there, although you have to be patient waiting for a reply.

I have to say you are in a similar situation to me, I've two lines coming into the house and attenuation on one is a lot higher than the other, one pretty much gives the expected attenuation for my distance and is completely stable the other (Talk Talk) experiences connection drops and drops in sync speed. I've even told them what the cause is most likely to be. I think perseverance is the key.

yeh i 'think' i might be getting somewhere there gona book a sfi check with BTOR what is so strange is ive been on this speed for about 6 yrs and i did a line check yest with BT Wholesale and the results came bk as :

looking at this i sure ive been capped to 1 meg anyone agree or disagree
