I'm not hugely clued up on broadband but do know when the system is slowing up. Obviously this is sometimes down to the speed of the web, other times I believe it may be my connection which is Greenbee (essentially Plusnet) over a BT line. I'm under 1km from the exchange and should get up to 7 MB.
However, Thinkbroadband (TB) online will register very low speeds whereas BT's speedtester indicates faster speeds. For example, earlier TB gave me a reading of 0.9 MB and yet BT was stating 4.5 MB. A second 'TB' test provided 1.9 MB - all within a 15 minute timeframe.
Why the differing results?
Can anyone provide some guidance /advice please?
