I've been trying my router in the NTE5 socket to see if it performs any better than on an extension, and came up with some seemingly unusual results. Currently the extensions run off the IDC connectors on the back of the front plate. I get different attenuation figures under different scenarios:
When I connect the router to the extension - 22.0db
When connected to the front socket on the NTE5 - 24.5db
When connected to the test socket - 20.5db
I was surprised to find I got a better sync rate and lower attenuation figures off the extension than from the front socket. Is this normal? I would have expected almost the same attenuation figures as when plugged into the test socket.
