I'm at my girlfriend's and she has a BT account. I've been tracking the line speed recently as it seemed a bit iffy. Anyway where she used to get around the 2mb mark using thinkbroadband's and BT speed tester, she now gets around 310kb and her IP profile is set at 350kb download, so it's in the "acceptable" BT range for the speed test. There doesn't appear to be any line problems and her max download speed estimate from other ISPs is now a max of 1mb for the postcode (zen for example). which seems odd given the higher download speeds for the past umpteen years she's been with BT. Any ideas before she has to make the "call of death" to India?

Noise margin is high. The router uptime is over 11 days. I'd suggest reboot the router and re-check the line stats. May have just been a period of instability/interfernece.
Note that with an increased line rate there will be a delay while the Ip profile hopefully rises
Cheers that's done it...just waiting for the profile to crawl back up now. I should've check the stats earlier, but it wasn't my router/connection and had to find out how to access it. Used kitz to get the access data in the end.
