Re: Choice of router for FTTC: some basic questions

+1 for the Billion BiPAC 7800N

I have 1 at home and used 4 at work for routing Internet connection and wireless network throughout the warehouse. They are a bit overkill as access points but I have never known a more reliable router with better wireless range.

It has 4 LAN ports plus 1 WAN port and ADSL so should you ever move to an area that doesn't have FTTC the router is still good for ADSL.

It does not have a switch to turn off wireless. But if you set up WPA2 with a decent key / password, you will be very secure.

The Airport Extreme is also a very good choice.

To be honest, beyond those two, I wouldn't touch anything else. Netgear, Linksys, Buffalo etc are all junk in comparison. - apologies to anyone that likes them, this is only my opinion.
