Why if disconnected. Only way I prove it is not that when things wont work. Said cut off from outside world first. The download is ok. Mine never picked anything up.

Was just a thought. Mine installed on the microsoft security essentials ok, never did it not want to work so program is ok, over kken AV I thought.

Guess you are right, I do but maybe not telling people is worlds best.

Did say unplug lead so no on internet, thought ok then.

And the iplayer thing does not go so will log off now before everyone has a go at me!.

and that program I was going to play with is to hard just to annoy me.

Many infections disable security software, especially if it's turned off and unable to defend itself. Most of these will disable security transparently - ie the user will be fooled into believing that all security is running whwn it won't be.

MSE is next to useless. If this is your normal procedure, if I were you, I would download and create the Kaspersky Rescue Disk and burn it on a known clean PC. I would then boot your PC from it, update it and run full scan at the highest security settings, fixing anything that it finds.
I would then download, install and update SuperantiSpyware and MBAM, reboot to Safe Mode and run both (One at a time of course) at their highest settings, fixing anything that's found.
If you want to follow this advice and anything is found during any of the above scans, ensure that you note exactly what's found and where, keeping logs for future reference where possible. Then start a new thread in the "Security" section of these forums and I'll advise further.

OK if you never reconnect perhaps but even if you don't, many malware payloads are (Intentionally or otherwise) destructive so you could lose valuable data. If you can't restart your computer or access Windows because of the damage and so can't seek advice, you may need to either reinstall the OS etc yourself or pay someone to do it.
Far easier to use a liitle common sense in the first place!

I haven't downloaded it yet but I do know that the site that you got it from is notorious for it's free extras that it doesn't tell you about. Even if you don't heed the advice above re scanning your system, at least check your search settings, HOSTS file and DNS etc just in case.

Blindly posting Google found links in a public forum, especially when it's a technically based forum where newcomers have a high level of trust in more experienced contributors, is highly irresponsible. In fact, doing so is helping out the spammers, scammers and criminals of this world, whilst devaluing the work of those trying educate those new to the technology.
I always test everything exhaustively in a virtual machine before recommending or linking to it.

Real Player will download and convert YouTube et al but I'm unsure about i-Player.
If you know where to look, the viewed files will already be on your machine! wink

....To complicated. I like the monkey proof "setup.exe" thing to click.....

Did you actually read the EULA before installing this???

In order to provide this free download, RelevantKnowledge software, provided by TMRG, Inc., a comScore, Inc. company, is included in this download.
This software allows millions of participants in an online market research community to voice their opinions by allowing their online browsing and purchasing behavior to be monitored, collected, aggregated, and once anonymized, used to generate market reports which our clients use to understand Internet trends and patterns and other market research purposes. The information which is monitored and collected includes internet usage information, basic demographic information, certain hardware, software, computer configuration and application usage information about the computer on which you install RelevantKnowledge. We may use the information that we monitor, such as name and address, to better understand your household demographics; for example, we may combine the information that you provide us with additional information from consumer data brokers and other data sources in accordance with our privacy policy.
We make commercially viable efforts to automatically filter confidential personally identifiable information and to purge our databases of such information about our panelists when inadvertently collected.By clicking Accept, you acknowledge that you are 18 years of age or older, an authorized user of this computer, and that you have read, agreed to, and have obtained the consent to the terms and conditions of the Privacy Statement and User License Agreement from anyone who will be using the computer on which you install this application.

ComScore is an extremely dodgy outfit which has used unsavoury methods for years. Even Microsoft regarded it's "MarketScore" technology as malware over two years ago!!!

Removal instructions for Marketscore.RelevantKnowledge.
