Two master sockets?

So, in true MSE style, I'm trying to minimize my spend here
I've just had Sky BB installed to replace an abominably oversubscribed VM connection, and this entailed a brand-new master socket.
The BT engineer wasn't particularly helpful and decided to stick the socket right next to the front wall, which isn't where the phone lives. I've got the end of a reel of CAT-5e cable, so I used this to join to the cable going to the VM master socket.

This appears to work just fine, but do I need to buy a slave socket to replace the VM master?
It's wired through a Philex ADSL filterplate, so I'm not worried about introducing interference into the line speed.

Just cut out the components from the VM master ...

Or post the line stats from the router and we'll see if things are affected or not by the two masters

Basically no difference as far as I can tell from a relatively uneducated perspective.
Bear in mind this BT line has been in for 3 days, and I'm presuming a little fluctuation of stats is normal.

Before:
43dB attenuation, 7.8dB SNR (Downstream)
After:
43.5dB attenuation, 7.5dB SNR (Downstream)

Sync hit 7mb solid last night, but appears to have backed off to 6.2mb. Nothing spectacular, but rock steady, and about where the BT postcode checker had predicted. (Sky were mooting 8-10mb, don't know what difference they had?)

I will also note that VM had only used the blue white & white blue wires, nothing else connected for what that's worth

Sky DLM may be impacting you, 43dB and 6dB target margin 8Meg is feasible

9dB target is closer to what you are seeing

Possibly, I don't really know the ins and outs of that. TBQH I'd be happy with 7mb so long as the ping stays nice and stable

Currently at 1ms jitter, as opposed to the 50ms standard or 100ms evenings/ weekends I was seeing on VM.
Can finally get back to playing BF2 properly lol.
