Virgin Media 20mb/s issues.

Hello,

For the last few weeks the quality of the service I have been getting from Virgin Media has been consistently getting worse despite two years of excellent service before this. We were scheduled for an upgrade up to 60mb/s in March/April but this has had the opposite effect.

I should tell you also that I am using a very old router (Belkin F5D7230-4). Although I would think that the low ping to the router would rule out a problem with it..

You may possibly have missed this article the last paragraph in particular.

Due to pressure from the gaming community in our house we have just been persuaded/badgered into "improving" our VM service, costing us more money! It appears that, as I thought, we still get the same issues, but the gamers are now back using the Uni network.

If I had my way we would swap ISP, but due to the complexities of the "VM package" that is unlikely to occur in the near future. Good luck with your issues.

Thanks very much for the info. It would certainly explain my issues. Although having contacted Virgin Media my ping last night was reasonable for the first time in a while. (Despite the brief spike at around 9pm.)
