Re: What your phone line can handle

Yes, that confirms the 6 Meg quote is for ordinary ADSL2+ and that with FTTC you could get 60 Meg.

You were already told this on that BT forum.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 19 Meg WBC

the screenshot is from the last stage of ordering BT Infinity not any other package so I don't think that last post is right.

You can't order Infinity if you only can get 6 Megs.

Do you really believe BT would offer you Infinity when you can only get 6 Meg.

You would be the exception that belies the name grin

Guys, this is what the other post is about, BT offering fibre package and above displaying message about 6Mbps, I would never ask on the forum if that made sense to me, can you see the screenshot?!

To say the least it is ambiguous. I'd ring them up and try to get some sort of proper estimate.

Am I missing something ??

The salient info from your last post is highlighted;

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 60.4Mbps and upstream line speed of 20Mbps.

So you have a short-ish line to the cab, and will more than likely see well over 60 meg sync. Don't get hung up on these guesstimators .... just order.
