Note, all other sockets are same like the ones shown in the master bedroom in the picture.

As I've stated in the thread that I have to NTE5's, however I don't. I was temporary blind (lol). By the way Im not really sure..

Here is the socket that only works in the whole house! Here is the phone/broadband connected. Picture: http://i47.tinypic.com/vmyvie.jpg

Please help me in any way you can! Thanks.

Or should I say is the wiring correct in the small bedroom? Like shouldn't it be connected to the first removable plate?

And the socket that works, has what wiring going into the back of it? Which room is that in.

For all we know the property may have previously had two phone lines running to it.

So does this mean that these are not extensions?

Without knowing what the wiring is like behind the socket that does work then one cannot say definitively either way.

Are there meant to be any wires connected to this?

Only if there are extensions connected to that master socket

If your phone live(s) come into the house above ground, it might be worth having a wander around the outside of the house to see where they enter, and if there's any wiring boxes on the outer skin of the house. Then if possible see the inside of where the wires all go, and see if you can estimate which wires are going where, and doing what.

Regarding your original question, why not try it and see what happens? You can always disconnect them again.
