Master Socket

Phone service is provided to the property by an underground cable terminating in an external junction box by the front door.

What exactly is the procedure of abandoning all internal wiring and having a new master socket fitted in a desired position in the property [a detached bungalow]? No extension sockets required.

Who can you ask to do the work and what would be the likely cost? Line rental paid to EE.

Any idea of the cost. The property dates from the 1960s and doesn't have the current master socket. My understanding is that to substitute it for the latest version, there is nothing to pay. So should the "standard fee" be rebated somewhat because the engineering would have to come to the property anyway?

A DIY extension to the desired position could then be undertaken.

Belive the £25+VAT charge is still current. EE may have a mark up of course.

If having FTTC installed then the install cost already covers changes like a new NTE5
