FTTC1 task/ fault ?

I have a banded profile on my vdsl connection up and down and various other problems and was waiting in for the OR engineer to arrive but he never showed so I called my isp and was told that a FTTC1 task needed to be carried out at the exchange or cab before an engineer would visit.

Does anybody know what this task or fault is?

An FTTC1 fault can be one of a couple of types.
Either 'the fault is with the EU's equipment ' (modem) or 'the fault is on the copper pair between PCP and EU (EU being you, the end user).

Thanks for the reply that sounds about right as my isp told me that they may still need to come round to my house if whatever they did at the cab does not work.

What ever it is they are doing I thought they might have sussed it this afternoon but it now seems to be getting worse. Looks like xbox live is out of the question tonight.
