BBC - 'Your connection' 3474 kbps You need to look at & compare, at diff times, the 4 (D/L + 3 x Streaming) speeds at top.
In my case they are all the same (15 Meg) except Streaming1 is less (10 Meg).

I dont use IE, so would rather not do a download test this way if possible. You don't need to test under IE; any Browser will do.

I Can get continuous download speed changes on chrome and IE.On Firefox only get bar with time
Important. IMO, to see connection speed and any changes during download
Removed chrome after check. Will not use Google products, UK Tax and privacy

okay, havent updated in a while so apologies to those who offered to help out previously.
Ive been experiencing much worse issues of late, with mu connection dropping completely. Ive been onto EE who diagnosed noise on the line and sent out BT who identified a 'wet joint outside of my property and have 'swapped to a spare connection'.
It seems more stable now, although Ive had the odd occasion (2/3 times a day or so apart) where i've had no internet and a restart of the router usually kicks back in the internet.
Last night I was still however unable to stream video content. Im not using dodgy links but a Sky Go account to watch football. The service automatically adjusts to the available bandwidth, to lower the quality and provide smooth playback. BUT, the application cannot do so presumably due to poor streaming offered by my Internet service.
Ive carried out streaming tests tonight and these are my results.

Hello! I've recently switched to EE from Sky (why o why did I bother) and from the second I turned the router on, on Tuesday, its been trouble.
After hours of google searching I've stumbled upon this post which best describes my issue, plus I have a few extra to add.
My problem is video streaming! It will try to cope on low quality video, sometimes juddering in places and stopping for a moment to catch up, but the big problem is when I switch to 720 or 1080 video and it will play a minute or so and just completely stop. We have 3 Ethernet connections (1 desktop, laptop and sky box) and my desktop has the heaviest usage. We have approximately 3 wireless device connected as well, however the wireless internet is unusable on all the devices for some reason (loading google can take up to 2 minutes!)
After doing speed checks on various websites between 18:00 and 22:00 I get between 8 - 10mbps down and 1mbps upload which seems normal!

I also read that EE have a 10 day period in which it takes for your speed to reach full potential but don't know how true this is?
Any help greatly appreciated

Ignore what you have heard about the 10 day rules.
What does http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html give you as a result - post link to the graphs at the end.
Router is connecting at 11 Meg which fits in with what you have said, but the speed looks low based on the downstream attenuation http://www.coolwebhome.co.uk/calc will give you the full estimate.
Even if you don't go faster than 10 Meg, streaming at the usual SD and HD speeds should be perfectly fine. What sites are you streaming from?
Which bright box model did they send you? On ADSL2+ if you have the EE username and password its easy enough (apart from cost) to replace with another router.

Ok, to start with follow the suggestions in this thread, in particular:
What exchange?
BBC iPlayer Diagnostics
BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test Further Diagnostics
Your sync speed is about 3 Meg less than it could be. Can you get those stats from the hidden test socket behind the faceplate of the master socket? Have you disconnected the ring wire from it?

Which bright box model did they send you? BB2 is only sent to fast fibre users. EE won't even send it to ADSL users to try and fix faults and you beg for it. No, this'll be a BB1.
