Well I'm pleased to report a positive result

I sent my current test figures to Think Point and they replied saying "We'll put your result into the database for the next update to Rightmove"

Guess that won't happen overnight but it is progress

On a rural exchange (Norham) where there is only the BT wholesale service on a long (5km) copper wire, if I switch from Plusnet to BT broadband am I likely to see much change in broadband speeds? The BT speedtester shows the same speeds as I currently obtain.

Despite being with Madasafish (Plusnet) for 10 years they want £264 for the next 12 months whereas BT will offer what I need for £40 net inc BT Sport

The connection speeds should remain the same and while the QoS across the BT Wholesale segment is likely to be the same, the way the provider handles DNS and final breakout to the Internet can have a big impact.

hence why operators who under invest in buying capacity on BT Wholesale only exchanges eg. TalkTalk, Sky, O2 (now sky) and maybe more are generally to be avoided
