Many Virgin cabinets are passively cooled only.

Sorry should of been clearer.... I'm talking about the fibre node (local mux) cabinets not the distribution cabs..

It was back on when I came past at 21:20... though fans where a lot noisier than usual...

I'm not sure wether it cuts out automatically at a temperature or even overheats and dies or if virgin might be sending a sleep signal!

All I know is that Virgin is "supposed" to be replacing most/all of these at some point... but no closer to it yet.. that I know, and as most customers are getting some sort of discount for issues now I think it would be in their best interest to kill it during the day than risk killing it.
