I assume you want the router at one of the upstairs sockets.

Just a minor further point. In your OP you appeared to have access to a phone, but in your 17:38 post you say you don't have a phone.

It's a good idea if you haven't to get a cheapo corded one for line checking in the future if you get problems. The Maplin ones are all 50% overpriced.

The Duet 210 looks perfect. Very similar to what I have.

You might find the sync is higher if you re-sync well inside daylight hours. But don't do it several times in quick succession. Look for the SNRM being a dB or so above its value straight after he evening sync. It may have dropped a bit since then but could be in your router's log.
