our exchange is up to 8mbs and generally get 6-7mbs. however on a couple of recent tests I have got over 8mbs. how is this possible. I tried two different sources and got the same result .,
Perhaps your exchange has been upgraded, what exchange is it; by the way Sam does not always know, if you are indeed using samknows to verify your exchange details.
BT have said that they will upgrade all exchanges to offer 21C WBC ADSL2+ by the end of next year. Though alas, I am still waiting for the exchange I am connected to now to be upgraded!
Since I have been with the post office it averages around 0.3, with BT it was 0.4. This also rose on the tests.
I tend to test regularly with the thinkbroadband tester.
I have also been getting this on thinkbroadband test We encountered a problem
Error Code: 4136 (Unexpected upload behaviour) when download/upload speed are higher
That is us rejecting the test for some unusual upload behaviour most common issue is that we saw a big gap between the samples and this suggests an issue with a connection/browser/device/wifi
http://tbb.st/1502190510303765355 is a test from today and notice how the peak speed is not unlike what some other testers are saying and we believe from testing that some testers would actually show you that figure as your final result.
The shape of the test suggests fast at the start and then slowing down, which suggests maybe congestion, which is supported by the low tbbx1 result too, providers with issues also do trigger the 4136 error message more often.
