What determines whether g.inp is enabled?

What determines whether g.inp is enabled? Is it a setting on a router that supports g.inp or is it the cabinet equipment perhaps depending on the quality of the connection, or something else?

DLM decides based on the amount of errored seconds the line sees. G.INP is enabled at cabinet side.

cabinet decides via the DLM algorithm but also needs your broadband modem to support G.INP

Thanks for all the replies which explain why it is not being used on my connection, and why I could not find a setting on the router to turn on.
