Plusnet One Hub Replacement Suggestions

10 devices running
My beloved Asus n56u 2.4 signal died
Hub One complaints from family since use.

Any suggestions, neighbours all using ISP routers

ADSL2+ or VDSL2?

If you want to stick with Asus then go for the excellent RT-AC86U which like the N56U is a stand-alone router only.

True, it ain't cheap but its Asus' highest rated 2-band router with a 64 bit high spec Broadcom CPU and wifi radios. If that is out of your price range then consider the Asus Blue cave router @£124.99 from Amazon, usual price is around £190. Though the price of £124.99 is for Prime Members only (take out a free AP trial to get around this)

If the Blue Cave is still out of your reach then consider something like the RT-AC66U or TP Link Archer C7, both of which are less than £100. But like with most things in life, you get what you pay for

The n56u was perfect for my house full wifi/ethernet speeds no matter where I was.

I'm assuming 86 n 66 n c7 are newer models and probably more powerful then n56.

PN hub 1 gives full speed via ethernet, but half speeds on wifi, nowhere near my 10 year old n56.

If I do go for 66u or c7 hopefully its similar to n56 or better.

Ive seen a n56u on ebay for 20+ pounds, but if 66u n c7 are better i might upgrade if better.

is that better then c7?

Its going for 40 quid or best offer.

Go for the Archer D7, its newer so will have better wifi radios. It also has a ADSL2+ modem built in but it can be used in router only mode as it has a WAN port. Have a gander here where you can see the router settings in 'emulator' mode:

Ended up with netgear r8000, but still chronic 2.4 issues.
