The box is where the external telephone wire is usually connected to the internal wiring that leads to a socket somewhere else in the property

Also only 2 wires I placed back in were the top 2 which I mentioned as could see they snapped the others seemed redundant to me but something is a miss

Yes I never new this box existed till I pulled the wire out today. I have my broadband going into the wall near the telly and I'm sure it's something to do with that white wire on the picture as that leads to the telephone socket where the broadband connects to. The other wire the black one is for previous plugs from what i can see. Sorry it's so hard to explain

If the white two pair wire goes to the master socket where you’re sky router is plugged into then the official colour code would be for the blue and orange which has crimps on to be connected to the incoming drop wire 10 to the white orange. If you don’t have crimps (unlikely) then you can strip the white internal cable and screw them into to where the white blue cable is currently connected in the lower half of the block terminal.

Did the cable with the crimps on connect to anything? Maybe the Green/Black in the black cable

Screwed pairs are correct colours.

Try Green/Black to Crimped Blue/Orange

If not then try Green/Black to Green/Brown

If not working still then report back with photo of innards of other sockets en route to the socket you want working.

In reply to a post by Rodnoahoz89:
Sorry you lost me. I dont know what it is apart from what I've spent 9 hours today trying to find out. The box was there when I moved In. All my broadband is set up through a filter socket on the floor, I pulled that wire as I said and lost it all.

Looks like the blue/white and white/blue wires from the junction box are perhaps feeding the "filter socket on the floor" (NTE5 with filtered face plate?) Sorry but its preferable that you don't do anything more with the wiring - probably its a re-connection job for an engineer.

Do you remember removing any pairs out from the crimps? Possible the white orange from the incoming black cable? Then did you re-stripe and connect to 2 and 5 in the block terminal?

I guess you have another socket in the house somewhere, see if that has dial tone as it looks like that the incoming feed is connected to another cable going to possible another telephone socket.
