Re: TBB Download

DNS was my first port of call: I did try Google DNS, (8.8.8.8), and at the time it did not seem to make any difference.

I am presently trying to stick with the SH2, (mainly because of the MyBT app speed test feature that seems to trigger some type of automatic BT response when it goes below 700 Mbps). - Also, by using the SH2 it should give BT a record of any drops in speed below 700 Mbps.

On the whole the SH2 seems surprisingly good, the Wifi range is very good and although slower than the Asus the Wifi speed it is generally OK since any resource heavy devices, (including Xboxes), are all connected via ethernet.

The reason that I mention the SH2 CPU is that we do have a lot of devices connected via ethernet and I was concerned that the SH2 may struggle where the RT-AX88u would not.

On the whole I quite like the SH2: it does not have a guest network or QOS but it mostly seems OK and my suspicion is that people avoid using the SH2 because of Wifi issues or is there another reason ?

Much as I love the guys running this site the speed tester is not the best option.

The code base has done a few years, it's incapable of handling the fastest connections, and is hard on CPU.

Try one of the download files to eliminate the tester's code as a bottleneck. Those could do with serious enlargement too ideally.

We went back to our usual RT-AX88u and the browsing is OK and after a few days the speed seems better.
